The California Coastal Arts and Ocean Alliance, the Santa Barbara Sea Glass & Ocean Arts Festival, and Beachcombing Magazine are collaborating on a fun global project, and we would love to include you!
As part of this project, we are putting together a short film highlighting beachcombers around the world. We’d love to include your short videos of your beach, some of your finds, and you talking about what spending time on the beach and beachcombing mean to you.
Everyone who submits videos by July 31, 2026, will be entered in a giveaway with prizes including sea glass jewelry, coastal art, and more.
To enter, please upload three or four short, one-minute videos that include all or some of the following ideas:
Introduce yourself and where you live.
Show us your favorite beach(es).
Show us some treasures you find on the beach.
Share what you do with your finds — whether you make art, jewelry, or just love to collect.
Tell us what is special to you about being a part of the global ocean beachcombing community.
We will be creating a 15-minute film that combines videos from beachcombers, shows some of their beaches, and includes some of their beautiful beachcombing finds, highlighting the diversity and creativity of our community. The film will debut during the 2026 Santa Barbara Sea Glass & Ocean Arts Festival weekend at a fundraising dinner on September 13, 2026. It will premiere on YouTube afterward.
Giveaways
Everyone who submits videos for this film will be entered in our Coastal Connections Giveaway. Prizes include jewelry, art, and more from talented artists and designers in the beachcombing community.

Creating your videos
PLEASE: Set your phone or camera at the highest setting right now before you take any photos or videos.
Please send short videos of about one minute each in length. You can send as many videos as you’d like. We will be editing many videos together to create a 15-minute final film.
Please submit only your own videos.
Film videos horizontally
Film horizontally. We can’t use videos that are filmed vertically or in square format as they don't fill up a normal video screen. They should be in horizontal, landscape, wide, 16:9 format. Whatever you call it, make sure you turn your phone sideways whenever you make a video. Videos should be at least 1920×1080 pixels. Think about your computer screen, your television, and a movie theater: they all have horizontal screens.
Uploading your videos
Upload videos to Google Drive, Google Photos, Dropbox, or other file sharing site. Please remove the password protection on the folder so our team can access the video files.
Email us if you would like us to send you a link to a folder on Google Drive where you can upload videos. Please do not email your video files.
Share the link to your Google Drive folder or Google Photos Album with etchedbytheseashop@gmail.com. Please make sure it is set so that anyone with the link can download the files.
Send any other link to your videos to etchedbytheseashop@gmail.com. Please make sure it is set so that anyone with the link can download the files.
Please email us if you would like to share an Apple Photo Album or iCloud folder.
Uploading to Google Drive
Once you have the link or have created your own Google Drive folder, following is how to upload your video files.
Computer:
Drag and Drop: Open the shared folder in your browser. Drag the file from your computer and drop it into the browser window.
Upload Button: Open the shared folder in your browser. Click the +New button in the top left, select File upload, choose your file, and click Open.
Phone:
Upload Button: Open the shared folder. Click the + button and select Upload file. Select Photos and videos, select the video files, and click Upload.
Don’t send videos via social media or email
Please do not send video files through Facebook or Instagram as they downsize videos until they are no longer suitable for inclusion in the film. And, please don't email the actual video files, as they will be too large to go through email. Instead, please email a link to the files you have uploaded.
Video release
By sending in your videos, you give us permission to use videos and stills in the film, online, and in print. If your submission is used, we will contact you to confirm your permission and get your contact information for the credits. Because things can change at the last minute, granting your permission does not guarantee that your contribution will be used in the final project. You retain all rights to your videos.
Have questions?
If you need more information, need help uploading videos, or have any questions, please email us and we'll see if we can help!

I keep my pads on my desk and use them for notes to myself, gift enclosures, etc. Love all the colors - I have all of the notepads and they do make me happy!
I keep my pads on my desk and use them for notes to myself, gift enclosures, etc. A nice gift for fellow Beachcombers. I have all of the notepads and they make me happy!
I've enjoyed my comb over the last few years. This was an ideal time to purchase for a family member fortunate enough to live by the sea. They have already discovered treasures while using it!
I was thrilled to see the article on the cameos from Italy! I have never seen an article like this before. When my father was in Italy during WWII he brought several cameos home that men were carving on there doorsteps. I found them in my mother’s button box. I had one made into a ring and one made into a necklace. It was so nice to see there is still interest in them!
I got 2 sets and have put them on my Cane, my folding heavy shopping cart, and my canvas shopping bags - they add color and make it easy to pick out my bags from others! I mixed it up and put one on my heavy winter jacket, which makes it easy to pull up the zipper. I enjoy seeing the colors quite frankly! I would probably buy more colors or other versions.
This is my "bathroom" calendar. My 3rd year I think. It's small so fits right in. I have 3 others throughout my home (calendars, one being Chihuahuas)!
I'll order every year.
Thank you, KS
