beachcomber travel survey

Whether it’s a beach you keep coming back to or one you’ve been dreaming of for years, we want to hear about your beachcombing travel ideas.

We're planning an article about beachcomber travel, and we'd love your input in our Beachcombing Wanderlust survey. We ask questions about your thoughts on when you plan on traveling, where you'd like to go, and what kinds of beachcombing vacations you like taking.

I love Edisto Beach, South Carolina, and especially Botany Bay. You are not allowed to take any shells from Botany Bay, to keep it in its pristine state, so there is the most amazing array of enormous perfect shells found by others or deposited by nature, all along the beach. It’s a treat for the senses!

After whetting my appetite for collecting, I then will hire a boat to go to nearby Shell Island, where you ARE allowed to collect shells, and where wonderful shells of all types are found, especially after Atlantic storms.

My favorite companion for this trip would be my sister Ellen, who loves Edisto as much as I do.
